The Story Of Binky

Binky is an African straw-coloured fruit  bat. He was born with a defect to his lower jaw. So basicly he has an over bite. When he was born, his lower jaw extended to the side and did not allow his mouth to close properly. He had a difficult time eating.Binky was also the runt in his colony and had a hard time keeping up with the colony. The facility where he was born could not care for him anymore so they looked for a place for him to live. The bat world sanctuary decided to take him.Since he had a defecteve jaw the fruit he was eating,  needed to be cut up so it was smaller so he could eat it. When Binky arrived he was very, very shy.Despite his shyness Binky almost immediatley bonded with one of our larger, slightly overweight flying-foxes named Brutus. The pair became really good friends.Binky's diet was grapes, pears, mangos, bananas, kiwis, figs, apples and other fruits. Our class donates money to Binky to buy him food.
